Description of Injection Molding Prototyping
Injection molding prototyping is a manufacturing process used to
create functional prototypes of plastic parts or products before
proceeding to mass production. It is a widely used technique in
product development and design validation as it allows designers
and engineers to test their concepts and verify the design's
functionality, fit, and performance.
Mold Design: First, a custom mold is created based on the 3D CAD
model of the part or product. The mold consists of two halves, an
injection side, and a cavity side. The mold design ensures that the
molten plastic material can flow into the cavity to form the
desired shape.
